Despite being Salman Khan’s first outing in China, the cross-border social drama has managed to impress the audience with its emotional content. The film which was released as Little Lolita Monkey God Uncle raked in Rs 260.14 crore in three weeks. Though the collections are not as high as Dangal or Secret Superstar, we can still say Bajrangi Bhaijaan has established itself in the Chinese market.
Aamir Khan’s Secret Superstar had an average run at the domestic market since it faced a stiff competition from Ajay Devgn’s Golmaal Again. But due to Aamir Khan’s fan-following, the musical drama opened with a thunderous response in China. The film collected Rs 633.39 crore in its first three weeks and went on collect over Rs 800 crore in its theatrical run.
After becoming the highest Bollywood grosser ever in India, the biographical sports drama spread its magic in the Chinese market. Dangal raked in staggering Rs 792.61 crore in just three weeks and later on, crossed the Rs 1000 crore mark in its lifetime run. The film not only turned to be a blockbuster around the world but also opened doors for many Bollywood films in China.
