Online bullying has become an abhorrent phenomenon on social media. It's not unusual that you hear of famous celebrities getting trolled for various reasons on a daily basis. While publicists will sometimes step in to diffuse the situation, some celebs take matters into their own hands, eloquently calling out to cyber bullies with the most savage replies. Here are few noted personalities who lashed back at the trolls like a boss
Abhishek Bachchan has often grabbed headlines for giving befitting replies to whosoever tries to pick on his family. A meme about Aaradhya watching Abhishek's movies was being circulated once and Abhishek fired right back. The meme in question poked fun at how daughter Aaradhya would not like watching 'Drona' and 'Jhoom Barabar Jhoom' and would wonder why Aishwarya Rai married him.A certain Twitter user mentioned Bachchan in the tweet and sent it to him. Little did he expect AB Jr to reply back to him. "@Mayankaryan084 you feeling better about yourself now??? Good! Glad to have been of service. Now go back to the hole you crawled out of.", Abhishek wrote. He later added, "@Mayankaryan084 don’t like my movies? That’s cool. Will work harder to make movies you like. Bringing my daughter into it is NOT cool.". Well, there's no messing with the Bachchan Jr for sure.
Priyanka Chopra has been a champion at responding to trolls who criticise her for her body and choice of clothes. When PeeCee posted a photograph of her meeting with Prime Minister Narendra Modi in Berlin on the sidelines of promoting her Hollywood debut 'Baywatch', little did she know that it would result in an army of trolls attacking her for not being dressed appropriately! Numerous people attacked Chopra on her various social media accounts for "showing her legs", forgetting "Indian culture", and even sitting cross-legged. The actress responded to the trolling by posting a photograph with her mother Madhu Chopra on Instagram, with the caption "Legs for days", where they are seen flaunting their legs.
Here comes the lady boss who is known for her wit and sass. It's not a new phenomenon for the actress-turned-author to be under the scrutiny of Twitterati. Twinkle Khanna once gave a snappy comeback to a troll who tried to nitpick at her grammar on Twitter. It all started when the 43-year-old shared some gyaan with her followers after her meeting with a scientist. “Something I learned from a scientist today:Each time someone puts a hurdle in your path-thank them,it’s the hurdle that makes you take a leap!” she wrote. However, someone decided to play grammar Nazi for the author. The user replied to her saying, “Learnt. You’re a writer.” Known for her witty remarks, Khanna lived up to her name and responded back to him with a fitting reply. “Learned and learnt are alternate forms of the past tense and past participle of the verb learn. I hope you learned something today:) Cheers!” she tweeted.
During the Indian Film Festival in Melbourne, that Richa Chadha was attending with Fawad Khan, the latter was asked about how the Pakistani culture was different from India's. Chadha instantly took over before he could reply and reportedly said that the question does not make much sense as North Indians have more in common with Pakistanis than with South Indians. Twitter went up in arms about her "nothing in common with South Indians" comment and trolled her. However Richa soon hit back, "Thanks for missing the point ❤️I love Tamil so much that I can read and write the language. But troll on!🙌🏽"
Bipasha Basu and Karan Singh Grover had a low-key but a gorgeous wedding in April 2016. Her Instagram pictures from her honeymoon could put even the best of travellers to shame. But did that stop trolls from trolling her? Of course, not. She decided not to succumb to the online bullying and called out the trolls, specifically the ones on her post on towel art. She put this on her Instagram: "This is to address the weird comments on my Towel Art post recently. The first post was 3 rd Jan 2015, no strange negative comments. Second post this week , lots of weird comments. My question is why is it so disturbing and offensive to see beautiful towel art done by talented house keeping staff??? What has changed??? Now I am married so I can't like Towel art???? Anyways pretty ridiculous! Get a life guys who look for negativity in the sweetest of things. Be happy . Live your own life. And yes I will post more Towel art soon! He he because I love it❤️ There are many ppl am sure who appreciate other ppls sweetness:)"
